Training on Environmental compliance and Gender Social inclusion
Kilimo Tija organized an Event at Green Integration Office on June 5, 2024. The main discussion was about Environmental compliance and Gender Social Inclusion during the whole project time.
1.Environmental Compliances-The act of conforming to environmental laws, regulations and other environmental requirements
Agricultural activities affect climate change significantly such as the use of Pesticides and fertilizers, the tractors emissions, clearing of land for farming that is why Kilimo Tija USAID FEED THE FUTURE Emphasized on Climate Smart Agriculture which lies on environmental regulations and laws, in order to protect people and their surroundings in both areas Morogoro in Kilosa and Iringa in Kilolo where the project implemented. Innovation of any Agri-Technology offered by Green Integration which might cause risk or affect the environment should have Mitigation measures.
Green Integration should educate farmers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and suggest ways to reduce the environmental impact by doing Soil analysis, Contouring and tree planting, collecting all plastic containers to the collecting center, developing bio beds for chemical mixing and making sure that all farmers have Protective gears.
2.Gender Social Inclusion-Is an act of providing equal participation in agricultural matters
USAID Kilimo Tija project leaves no one behind since both Gender had an equal opportunity in horticulture productivity. The idea of Gender Inclusion aims to capacity/transfer knowledge to both gender in order to empower women and youth financially.
